Batalha Monastery

Batalha Monastery, officially the Monastery of Saint Mary of the Victory, is a Dominican convent built from 1386 to about 1517 to mark the Portuguese victory at Aljubarrota in 1385. Its Late Gothic and Manueline church holds the Founder's Chapel with the tombs of the House of Aviz, and the octagonal Unfinished Chapels were never completed.
