Aspendos

Aspendos is an ancient Pamphylian city near Serik, on the Köprüçay river, the ancient Eurymedon. Its Roman theatre was built by the architect Zenon between about 138 and 164 AD for some 15,000 spectators; the stage building and seating survive largely intact, partly because the Seljuks used it as a palace. An aqueduct, a basilica and the agora lie on the hill behind.
