About Brisbane

Brisbane is Queensland's capital on a winding river, with its museums and parklands on the south bank facing the city centre. South Bank Parklands has a lagoon beach and the Wheel of Brisbane, beside the Queensland Museum Kurilpa and the Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art. Across the river, Brisbane City Hall stands on King George Square near the City Botanic Gardens, and the Story Bridge links the centre with Kangaroo Point. Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary is upriver, and the Mount Coot-tha Lookout looks over the city from the west. Two days cover the main sights. CityCat ferries, buses and trains reach most of them.
