Belfry of Bruges
The Belfry of Bruges is the medieval bell tower on the Markt, begun around 1240 above the city's market hall and given its octagonal upper stage in 1483–1487. Now 83 metres tall after its spire burned in 1741, it can be climbed by 366 steps past the former treasury to the carillon, and it is part of the UNESCO-listed Belfries of Belgium and France.
