Château de Cadillac

The Château de Cadillac is a ducal residence begun in 1598 for Jean-Louis de Nogaret de La Valette, first Duke of Épernon, in the walled town of Cadillac on the Garonne. A women's prison and later a correctional school until 1951, it now shows painted French ceilings, monumental fireplaces and 16th- and 17th-century tapestries.
