Al-Azhar Park

Al-Azhar Park is a 30-hectare public park on the eastern edge of historic Cairo, laid out by the Aga Khan Trust for Culture on a former rubble mound and opened in 2005. Paths, water channels and gardens based on historic Islamic designs lead past an excavated stretch of the Ayyubid city wall, with views of the Citadel and the minarets of the old city.
