Kettle's Yard is the former home of the curator Jim Ede and his wife Helen, who from 1956 turned four cottages on Castle Street into a house for their collection of early 20th-century art. Ede gave it to the University of Cambridge in 1966. The house is kept as they left it, next to a gallery for changing exhibitions.
