Phoenician Steps

The Phoenician Steps are a stone stairway of about 921 steps that climbs 1.7 km from Marina Grande to Anacapri. Despite the name, they were probably built by Greek settlers in the 7th to 6th century BC, and until the road opened in 1877 they were the only way up to Anacapri. The top ends near Villa San Michele.
