Cardona Salt Mountain

Cardona's Salt Mountain is a diapir of rock salt rising in the Vall Salina south of the town, worked from the Neolithic until mining ended in 1990. The cultural park in the former Mina Nieves potash mine has a museum area and pithead machinery; guided tours drive down into the valley and walk about 500 metres of galleries inside the mountain, among salt stalactites.
