Royal Palace of Caserta
The Royal Palace of Caserta was begun in 1752 for Charles of Bourbon, King of Naples, to designs by Luigi Vanvitelli, and became the main residence of the Bourbon kings of Naples. Visitors tour the royal apartments, the court theatre and the palace chapel, and walk the long park axis lined with fountains. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
