Château de Chambord
The Château de Chambord is a Renaissance château in the Loire Valley, built from 1519 to 1547 for King Francis I as a hunting lodge. Its roofline of towers, lanterns and chimneys rises above a central keep with an open double-spiral staircase; visitors tour the royal apartments, the roof terraces and the formal gardens.
