Maritime Museum of Crete

The Maritime Museum of Crete, founded in 1973, occupies a building at the entrance to the Venetian Firkas fortress on the west side of Chania's old harbour. Its two floors hold ship models, nautical instruments, a destroyer's bridge and rooms on the Battle of Crete; a second exhibition in the Moro shipyard shows a replica Minoan ship.
