U.S. National Whitewater Center

The U.S. National Whitewater Center, opened in 2006 beside the Catawba River about 16 km west of Uptown Charlotte, is a non-profit outdoor centre on some 530 hectares. Its main feature is a large recirculating artificial whitewater river used for rafting, kayaking and Olympic training, alongside climbing walls, ziplines, ropes courses and more than 80 km of trails.
