La Cité de la Mer

La Cité de la Mer is a museum of underwater exploration in Cherbourg, opened in 2002 in the port's Art Deco transatlantic terminal of 1933. Visitors walk through Le Redoutable, France's first nuclear ballistic-missile submarine, see deep-sea aquariums and submersibles, and follow the Titanic, which called at Cherbourg in 1912.
