Colchester Zoo is a zoo at Stanway, near Colchester in Essex, opened in 1963 as Stanway Hall Park Zoo. It covers about 24 hectares of parkland and lakes with more than 150 species, from big cats and primates to the rhinos, giraffes and zebras of its Kingdom of the Wild area. It now operates as Colchester Zoological Society.
