Rocher Bayard

Rocher Bayard is a limestone needle about 40 metres high on the right bank of the Meuse between Dinant and Anseremme. Legend says the horse Bayard split the rock with a hoof while carrying the four Aymon brothers away from Charlemagne; in fact it was cut from the cliff in the time of Louis XIV for the road that still passes beside it.
