Aillwee Cave

Aillwee Cave is a cave system in the limestone hills of the Burren in County Clare, near Doolin. A local farmer found it in 1944, and it opened to visitors in 1976. Guided tours follow about 300 m of passage past stalactites, an underground waterfall and the remains of brown bears, and leave through a man-made tunnel. A birds of prey centre shares the site.
