Poulnabrone Dolmen

Poulnabrone Dolmen is a Neolithic portal tomb on the limestone plateau of the Burren in County Clare, near Doolin. Three upright stones carry a thin, tilted capstone, and the tomb was built between about 3800 and 3200 BC. Excavations in 1986 and 1988 found the remains of about 33 people buried beneath it. Visitors see it from a path beside the road.
