Roman Villa of Echternach

The Roman villa of Echternach lies in the parkland by Echternach lake. Built around AD 70 and lived in until the 5th century, this palatial country house had marble-clad walls, mosaics, baths and underfloor heating. Its foundations, uncovered in 1975 when the lake was dug, can be walked through, with a Roman kitchen garden and a visitor centre with models.
