Engelberg Abbey

Engelberg Abbey is a Benedictine monastery founded in 1120. Its Baroque church and convent buildings were rebuilt after a fire in 1729; the church also serves as Engelberg's parish church and has an organ with 137 stops. Guided tours lead through the Baroque hall, the guest refectory, the church and an exhibition of manuscripts made by the monks in the 12th century.
