Belval Blast Furnaces

Blast furnaces A and B at Belval in Esch-sur-Alzette, put into service in 1965 and 1970, are the two surviving furnaces of a steelworks founded in 1911; the last was shut down in 1997 and both are protected industrial monuments. A visitor route leads through furnace A, from the ore bunkers to the charging platform 40 metres up.
