Upper Sûre Lake

The Upper Sûre Lake is a reservoir created by the Esch-sur-Sûre dam, a 47-metre arch dam built from 1955 to 1958 for drinking water and electricity. Covering about 3.8 square kilometres and stretching some 10 kilometres up the wooded Sûre valley, it is Luxembourg's largest body of water and lies within the Upper Sûre Nature Park.
