Flåm Railway

The Flåm Railway (Flåmsbana) is a 20-kilometre branch of the Bergen Line that climbs from Flåm on the Aurlandsfjord to Myrdal station, 866 metres higher. Opened in 1940, it runs up the Flåmsdalen valley on gradients of up to 5.5 percent through 20 tunnels; the trip takes about 55 minutes each way, with a short stop at the Kjosfossen waterfall.
