Galleria dell'Accademia

The Galleria dell'Accademia is an art museum on Via Ricasoli, founded in 1784 by Grand Duke Pietro Leopoldo. Michelangelo's David has stood in its tribune since 1873, with his unfinished Prisoners in the hall leading to it; the rooms also show Florentine paintings of the 13th to 16th centuries and a collection of musical instruments.
