Partnach Gorge

A 702-metre limestone gorge cut by the Partnach stream below Garmisch-Partenkirchen, in places more than 80 metres deep. A path developed for visitors since 1912 follows the rock face through tunnels and a lit gallery blasted after a 1991 rockfall, passing close beneath waterfalls and overhangs.
