Schlossberg
The Schlossberg is a wooded dolomite hill rising above the old town of Graz to 473 metres, once crowned by a fortress that Napoleon's troops largely demolished in 1809. The townspeople paid to spare the Clock Tower and the Bell Tower, and since 1839 the hill has been a park, reached on foot, by lift or by the Schlossbergbahn funicular of 1894.
