Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum

The Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum on Ba Đình Square holds the embalmed body of Ho Chi Minh, the revolutionary leader and first president of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, who died in 1969. Built in grey granite from 1973 to 1975 and partly modelled on Lenin's Mausoleum, it is watched by an honour guard and closes for maintenance for some months each year.
