About Helsingør
Helsingør is a harbour town on the Øresund north of Copenhagen, known for Kronborg Castle, the setting of Shakespeare's Hamlet. Kronborg Castle guards the narrow strait to Sweden, and next to it Kulturværftet occupies the old shipyard buildings. The town also has Danmarks Tekniske Museum, the Øresund Aquarium and a small medieval centre with Helsingør City Museum. Most visitors come for a day, often from Copenhagen, which is under an hour away by train. The station, harbour and castle are all within walking distance of each other. Ferries cross from the harbour to Helsingborg in Sweden, so the two towns can be seen on the same day.
