Chesters Roman Fort

Chesters Roman Fort, the Roman Cilurnum, is a cavalry fort on Hadrian's Wall beside the River North Tyne near Chollerford, north of Hexham in Northumberland. Its remains include the headquarters, barracks, gateways and the bath house by the river, and the Clayton Museum of the 1890s shows the inscriptions and sculpture collected by John Clayton along the Wall.
