Hoffellsjökull

Hoffellsjökull is an outlet glacier of Vatnajökull in Vatnajökull National Park, about 25 km north of Höfn. A 4 km gravel track from the farm Hoffell leads to a car park, and a short path climbs to a viewpoint over the lagoon Hoffellslón, where icebergs float in front of the glacier snout. Going onto the ice needs a guide.
