Taroko Gorge

Taroko Gorge is a marble canyon cut by the Liwu River in Xiulin Township, about 25 km north of Hualien, at the heart of Taroko National Park. Visitors can walk the Taroko Terrace by the visitor centre at its mouth and the Dekalun steps towards Dali village, or drive Provincial Highway 8 up the gorge to Tianxiang, where a suspension bridge leads to Xiangde Temple.
