Schynige Platte

Schynige Platte is a mountain ridge and viewpoint at about 2,000 metres above Wilderswil, reached since 1893 by a cogwheel railway from Wilderswil to a top station at 1,967 metres. Beside the station is a botanical alpine garden, opened in 1929, with around 800 Swiss alpine plant species, and short trails lead to viewpoints over the Eiger, Mönch, Jungfrau and Lake Brienz.
