St. Beatus Caves

The St. Beatus Caves are a limestone cave system in the cliffs above the north shore of Lake Thun at Sundlauenen, near Interlaken. Of some 14 kilometres explored, a lit one-kilometre path leads through grottoes and halls past stalactites and underground waterfalls. Legend says the hermit Beatus lived at the entrance, where a cave museum and restaurant now stand.
