Aragonese Castle
The Aragonese Castle stands on a volcanic islet off Ischia Ponte, joined to the island of Ischia by a stone causeway that Alfonso V of Aragon built in 1441. A fort has stood on the rock since 474 BC; the visit leads past churches, a convent with the nuns' cemetery, prisons, gardens and terraces above the sea.
