Diamond Beach

Diamond Beach is the black sand beach of Fellsfjara on Breiðamerkursandur, on both sides of the outlet of Jökulsárlón south of Route 1. Blocks of glacier ice carried out of the lagoon by the tide wash up and lie on the sand. A 1 km trail runs along the eastern beach, Eystri-Fellsfjara, and the river can be crossed on foot under the bridge.
