Kaloko-Honokōhau National Historical Park

Kaloko-Honokōhau National Historical Park lies on the lava coast about 5 km north of Kailua-Kona. It protects the remains of a Hawaiian coastal settlement: the Kaloko and ʻAimakapā fishponds, a fish trap, house sites, petroglyphs and a stretch of the ancient Ala Kahakai trail. Green sea turtles often rest on the beach at Honokōhau.
