Karlštejn Castle is a Gothic castle about 30 km southwest of Prague, founded in 1348 by King Charles IV to keep the imperial regalia, the Bohemian crown jewels and holy relics. Visits are by guided tour only: the Imperial Palace and the Marian Tower, and in season the Great Tower with the Chapel of the Holy Cross.

tourist attraction · Karlštejn Velká Amerika is a disused limestone quarry near Mořina, in the Bohemian Karst a few kilometres north of Karlštejn. Its sheer walls form a canyon about 750 m long and up to 80 m deep, partly filled by a lake; Czech films such as Lemonade Joe were shot here, and visitors look into it from paths along the rim.
