Kyoto Aquarium

Kyoto Aquarium opened in 2012 in Umekoji Park, a short walk west of Kyoto Station, and is an inland aquarium run entirely on artificial seawater. Its zones follow water from the rivers of Kyoto, home to Japanese giant salamanders, to the Sea of Kyoto tank, with seals, penguins, jellyfish and a dolphin stadium.
