Eagle Square

Eagle Square, Dataran Lang, is a waterfront square beside the Kuah jetty in Langkawi with a 12-metre statue of a reddish-brown eagle poised to take flight. The eagle stands for the island's name, which local tradition derives from 'helang', eagle, and 'kawi', a reddish-brown colour; the square is lit at night.
