Villa del Balbianello

Villa del Balbianello stands on the tip of the Dosso d'Avedo peninsula on the western shore of Lake Como, on the site of a 13th-century Franciscan convent. Cardinal Angelo Maria Durini made it a villa with a loggia in 1787; explorer Guido Monzino left it to the FAI in 1988. The visit covers the terraced gardens, the furnished rooms and his expedition museum.
