Mangturm

The Mangturm is a stocky medieval tower on Lindau's harbour promenade, built around 1200 as part of the town's fortifications. It served as the city's lighthouse into the 19th century, guiding ships until the New Lighthouse took over in 1856. Its glazed-tile spire dates from that century, and a nearby plaque calls it a symbol of the former free imperial city.
