Hampton Court Palace
Hampton Court Palace is a royal palace on the Thames in south-west London, begun in 1514 for Cardinal Thomas Wolsey and taken over by Henry VIII in 1529. William III added Baroque wings in the 1690s, so Tudor and Baroque buildings stand side by side. Its gardens include the Hampton Court Maze and the Great Vine, planted in 1768.
