Richard Wagner Museum

The Richard Wagner Museum occupies the Tribschen country house on a peninsula of Lake Lucerne, where the composer lived from 1866 to 1872 and where his Siegfried Idyll was first performed in 1870. Opened as a museum in 1933, it shows rooms with Wagner's original furniture, an exhibition on his years in Lucerne and temporary exhibitions upstairs.
