Manchester Art Gallery

Manchester Art Gallery is the city's public art museum on Mosley Street, run by Manchester City Council. Its main building, with an Ionic portico by Sir Charles Barry, was built between 1824 and 1835 for the Royal Manchester Institution and is linked to Barry's Athenaeum by a 2002 extension by Hopkins Architects. The collection holds more than 25,000 objects.
