MOOM Matera Olive Oil Museum
The MOOM, Matera Olive Oil Museum, occupies an old olive press cut into the rock on Vico I Casalnuovo in the Sassi of Matera. The cave mill is thought to date from the 15th or 16th century, with an upper floor added around 1900; a guided route of about 20 minutes leads past the stone millstone, wooden presses and settling tanks.
