Château de Montsoreau

The Château de Montsoreau is a Flamboyant Gothic castle built between 1450 and 1460 by Jean de Chambes, councillor to Charles VII and Louis XI, directly on the bed of the Loire where the Vienne joins it. Alexandre Dumas set La Dame de Monsoreau here, and since 2016 it has housed a museum of contemporary art built on a collection of works by Art & Language.
