Delos

Delos, 2 km off Mykonos, is the island that held the sanctuary of Apollo, where Greek myth places the birth of Apollo and his twin Artemis. Its excavated ancient city includes temples, the Terrace of the Lions, the theatre quarter with Hellenistic houses and their mosaics, and a site museum. A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1990, it is reached by boat from Mykonos harbour.
