Caves of Nerja

The Caves of Nerja are a cave system above the village of Maro, east of Nerja, rediscovered in 1959 by five local friends and opened to visitors a year later. Stairs and paved paths lead through large chambers full of stalactites and stalagmites; the cave also holds prehistoric paintings, and concerts are held in one chamber.
