New Museum

The New Museum is a museum of contemporary art on the Bowery in the Lower East Side, founded in 1977 by Marcia Tucker. Its building of stacked, offset boxes clad in aluminium mesh, designed by SANAA, opened in 2007, and an extension by OMA opened in 2026. It shows changing exhibitions of living artists from around the world.
