Statue of Liberty

The Statue of Liberty is a copper statue on Liberty Island in New York Harbor, a gift from France designed by Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi, with an iron framework by Gustave Eiffel. It was dedicated in 1886 and stands on a granite pedestal by Richard Morris Hunt. Ferries carry visitors to the island, the pedestal and, with a reservation, the crown.
